Parineeti Chopra has been receiving acclaim for her performance in Imtiaz Ali's film Amar Singh Chamkila, in which she plays Amarjot Kaur, the wife of the iconic Punjabi singer played by Diljit Dosanjh. Reflecting on her journey in the industry during a recent interview, Parineeti acknowledged the mistakes she has made in her career, expressing her hope that these won't define her in the eyes of the audience. Parineeti revealed that earlier in her career, she relied on the advice of others because she felt inexperienced in the industry. However, some of this guidance led her to make choices that did not suit her or align with her true instincts. She confessed to India Today, "I think I heard a lot of wrong advice and I think I did a lot of films which were perceived to be the correct thing to do, to be commercial, to be bankable, to be a sellable actor but were not necessarily the right fit for me." She also explained that she was often advised to follow industry trends and shift her fashion choices accordingly, but she now recognizes that this approach was not right for her. Now, Parineeti feels she has a clearer understanding of what she wants and needs in her professional journey. She believes directors and producers need to recognize her potential and overlook her past mistakes, focusing on her genuine talent. Parineeti hopes to receive opportunities based on her abilities and to be seen as the actress she truly is.
